The Face Behind the Camera

Hi friends! I’m Megan.

I’m a twenty-four year old crazy goat lady, avid dessert lover, outdoor enthusiast and photographer.  My favorite days start before the sun comes up, in a ball cap, and a graphic tee feeding the goats. By 9 a.m. I’ve probably chugged a bottle of water, knocked out a Peloton workout, and tackled a handful of things on my to-do list. Mornings are my favorite, only if you speak to me after breakfast. I’m a simple gal at heart. I own less than 20 pairs of shoes, have a handful of favorite jewelry pieces, and can usually be found in one of my go to pieces of clothing. Fancy dinners aren’t my thing, I’d rather have good sandwich and fries. My favorite things include the color purple, chocolate, agriculture, running, and wide-open spaces.

My love for agriculture started at very young age. I was in a barn long before I could walk and still its my favorite place to spend a couple hours. Like many, I was active in 4-H and FFA growing up and held a position on the PA 4-H State Council. Showing livestock was my whole life as a teenager. I spent every morning and evening in the barn preparing for the next show. There is nothing sweeter than an evening spent in the show barn with the family. Summer evenings weren’t complete without a trip to the local ice cream stand.

My passion for agriculture and high-quality ice cream lead me to PSU where I had some of my favorite experiences. I enjoyed college so much I stayed for an extra semester. I graduated from Penn State in December of 2019 with a degree in animal science. College is where I discovered my creative side and fell in love with livestock and portrait photography. My experiences in Washington, D.C. and Houston ultimately led me to find my calling capturing the moments in agriculture and telling our story to the public.

Megan Anderson Photography specializes in livestock and portrait photography. Livestock are always welcome in your sessions. I’ll even encourage it, unless it’s your crazy show heifer named Bertha. Livestock mean so much to us who care and tend to them every day. Family photos will not be complete without including the four-legged family members. The show ring holds a special place in my heart, but I have very few photos from my time showing livestock. That is why I’m so passionate about capturing those moments. I believe every kid should have a selection of photos to flip back through long after the last show ended.

I strive to capture what truly makes each individual or family unique. If you’re looking for real honest pictures that show all your families quirks, I’m your gal. I can’t wait to capture what makes your farming family unique and to visit the place that’s been passed down from generation to generation. Let’s work together! I can’t wait to see the magic we will create together.
